Search Continues For Suspect Wanted For Murder In Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Bridgeport police on Wednesday were continuing to search for Derrick Francis, 41, the suspect in the fatal shooting of 23-year-old Bridgeport resident Brianna Destiny McKoy last week. Francis is considered to be armed and dangerous.

McKoy was shot in a unit in the Coachlight Square Condominiums at 333 Vincellette St. at about 11:20 a.m. on Thursday.

The Connecticut Post reported that McKoy was the daughter of Jamaican reggae performer Ricky Trooper.

Francis is known to frequent Bridgeport's North End and the Bronx, New York; the search for him involves multiple law enforcement agencies in addition to Bridgeport police.
