Stop & Shop Slated To Close In Bridgeport In 2024: Report
The Stop & Shop on Fairfield Avenue in Bridgeport will close next year, and reportedly will be replaced by another supermarket.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Bridgeport is losing a Stop & Shop next year, but the site will be filled by another supermarket chain, reported the Connecticut Post.
The Stop & Shop at 2145 Fairfield Ave., one of two in the city, will close in the early part of the year, but a Food Bazaar is slated to replace it. The new Food Bazaar will be the company's third location in Bridgeport.
Due to the Stop & Shop's closure, the M&T Bank inside will also close, officials said, in mid-February.
