Victim Dies Days After Bridgeport Shooting: Police

Charges against the suspect will be upgraded to murder, according to authorities.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 26-year-old Bridgeport man, who was shot on June 19, died Wednesday afternoon, according to Bridgeport police.

Jevoun Rodney died from injuries sustained during the shooting on Iranistan Avenue. Soon after the 9:20 a.m. shooting, Bridgeport police arrested Hommy Rodriguez on a criminal attempted murder charge, and other violations.

The charge will be upgraded to murder, according to Tiadora Josef, Bridgeport's Director of Public Information.
