Brookfield to Hold Public Forum on New Elementary School

Residents approved the $78.1 million plan in March.

BROOKFIELD, CT — The Town will be holding a "public engagement forum" to discuss the new Huckleberry Hill Elementary School on Tuesday evening at 7:00, at the school.

Residents approved the $78.1 million plan in March. Total out-of-pocket for Brookfield will be $63.3 million, assuming the town receives a grant, currently under review by the state.

The school will serve prekindergarten through fifth grade, bringing fifth-graders down from the middle school while combining Huckleberry Hill and Center elementary schools. Construction is expected to commence in the fall of 2020, with occupation scheduled for the fall of 2022.
