[UPDATE] DOT, Town Come to Agreement on Four Corners Streetscape Project
The Connecticut DOT wanted the Town of Brookfield to put up new metal poles at the intersection that would have cost $50,000.

The Four Corners Development Plan will move forward now that the Town of Brookfield and the CT DOT have come to an agreement.
“Today we received a phone call from Conn DOT giving us verbal approval for the Four Corners Streetscape Project. The “span pole” issue I mentioned has been resolved without the Town or the State having to replace the poles,” said Greg Dembowski, Economic Development Vice Chairman

The Town of Brookfield’s plan to develop the four corners area of Brookfield is being held up by the Connecticut State Department of Transportation’s new requirements for span pole design, according to Board of Selectman meeting minutes.

The DOT wants the town to put up new metal poles that hold up the traffic lights at a cost of approximately $50,000. To comply with the new DOT standards, the Town of Brookfield must obtain right-of-way or easements. Town Attorney Fran Collins is obtaining appraisals for these issues.
