Latest Brookfield Coronavirus Update: 8 More Active Cases

BROOKFIELD, CT — The state Department of Public Health has confirmed there are 81 cases of the new coronavirus in the Town as of Sunday, up from 73 reported Saturday.

Gov. Ned Lamont announced the total number of confirmed cases of the new coronavirus in Connecticut reached 5,675 on Sunday and 189 people have died. Additionally, 1,142 people have been hospitalized since the inception of the pandemic last month.

According to state officials the surge of hospitalizations is now expected to be between April 26 through May 1 for Fairfield County. This means the hardest hit area of the state may still have more than three weeks of significant cases to be reported.
