During National Rehabilitation Week September 18th – 24th 2011 Cherry Brook Health Care Center would like to honor their dedicated rehabilitation staff who rated Excellent by the clients they have treated on an Inpatient, and Outpatient basis.

Inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation helps individuals who have experienced any typed of injury, pain, weakness, balance problems, wheelchair needs, incontinence, difficulty swallowing, cognitive or difficulty with communication The therapist will work cooperatively with the client to design a skilled comprehensive program to help each individual function as independently as possible, be free of pain and experience an increased quality of life. Clients receive care from a multidisciplinary team, which is lead by a physician and include physical, occupational and speech language therapy, therapeutic recreation, nursing and social services. Our regular therapy staff has over 150 years of combined clinical experience which provides a wealth of knowledge and a vast array of treatment approaches to tailor fit a creative program for the client. Our therapy is almost exclusively provided on a 1:1 basis and promotes a patient focused, results oriented approach. Whether you want to get back on your boat without losing your balance, or freely swing a tennis racquet pain free, our therapy staff will help you get there!
Cherry Brook wants to introduce you to our Rehab team and why they choose to work at our facility Amy Krystofalski, RPT, nine year veteran at Cherry Brook has been a Registered Physical Therapist for nine and a half years and specializes in custom wheelchair fitting and positioning, and states “I enjoy interacting with my client’s and helping them reach their maximum potential”. Lynelle Guimond, OTR/L, seven years at Cherry Brook and has been an Occupational Therapist for fifteen years states “the staff is very friendly and it’s rewarding to experience the client’s progression toward their individual goals utilizing a variety of modalities”. Cheryl Forbes-Mennett, COTA/L, has been a Cherry Brook employee for five years and a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant for twenty nine years, states “I enjoy the rapport we share as a team. It’s rewarding to see the progress our clients make and the accomplishments they express”. Deb Yurko, SLP, a nine year dedicated employee who has been a Speech Language Pathologist for thirty six years and specializes in dysphasia, aphasia and dysarthria, states “I love working with clients on an in-patient and out-patient. The rehab staff is awesome with a great exchange of ideas and strategies”. Lynn Edgar, PTA, eight year employee, states” teamwork, we have an excellent staff and our state of the art equipment enhances our client’s plan of care for rehabilitation and recovery”. Anne Blomstrand, MS/RPT, says the staff is great, has worked for Cherry Brook for four years, and is a Registered Physical Therapist for eleven years. Anne quotes “I enjoy the challenge of working with medically complex clients and outpatients.” Carol O’Connor, OTR/L, has been a Registered Occupational Therapist for twenty-seven years and has worked at Cherry Brook for five. Carol states “I truly enjoy working with both in-patient and out-patient clients and the staff are very accommodating”. Shiley Teddick, Rehab Tech/CNA, has been an employee for four years. Nancy Perrotta, OTR/L, Director of Rehabilitation has been a Registered Occupational Therapist for twenty-five years and has been the Director of Rehabilitation at Cherry Brook for six years, and a Regional Manager for Athena Healthcare for 1 ½ years.
