Canton: Time To Pay The Tax Man

While taxes are due Jan. 1, the grace period means no penalties for taxes paid by Feb. 1.

CANTON, CT — Local officials are reminding taxpayers to not forget the tax man when paying bills this holiday season.

But the good news is folks, really, have until a month after the holidays to pay their town property taxes without facing a penalty.

"If you haven’t already paid the second installment of your real estate tax, the Canton tax collector would like to remind you that it is due January 1, 2023 and is payable without penalty by February 1, 2023," wrote the town via social media.
