State Police Investigating Officer-Involved Shooting In Canton
State Police are searching for the driver of the vehicle that fled the scene after shots were fired.

CANTON, CT — State Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting, which occurred Friday night in Canton.
At 8:08 p.m., a Canton Police Officer conducted a motor vehicle stop on Collins View Road in Canton, State Police said in a news release. During the course of the motor vehicle stop, the Canton Police Officer fired at least one round from his duty weapon, State Police said.
The driver of the vehicle then fled the scene, State Police said. The Canton Police Officer was not injured, however he was transported to the hospital for evaluation, State Police said.

At the request of the Hartford State’s Attorneys Office, Connecticut State Police Central District Major Crime detectives responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. State Police detectives are attempting to identify and locate the operator and vehicle.
