CANTON, CT — A veteran law enforcer has called it a career with the Canton Police Department, with the CPD posting his moving final sign-off this week.

CPD Sgt. Tyson Deloy officially retired after 24 years of service on Sept. 7 in Canton, prompting final tributes from his colleagues and a touching video.

He is moving on to work at Granby's police department.

"Your commitment and hard work have made a lasting impact on our community, you were an invaluable member of this department and you will be missed by all," wrote the CPD.

"We hope you have a long and happy retirement, and wish you the best of luck as you begin your next chapter with the Granby Police Department."
