Groping Suspect Arrested in Cheshire: Police

Police have charged a 15-year-old in connection to the latest groping incident and are investigating his possible connection to other cases.

CHESHIRE, CT — Cheshire Police arrested a 15-year-old male in connection to Wednesday’s groping incident of a 46-year-old woman in the Strathmore Drive neighborhood.

Based on the description and statement provided by the victim, Cheshire Police identified a suspect in the most recently reported groping incident.

After speaking with the suspect and his father, a confession was provided to Cheshire Police Detectives on Thursday, police said.

On Wednesday, Nov. 2, police received a complaint at about 4:40 p.m. from the victim who told police she was approached from behind by a man who grabbed her around the shoulders and limited her movement. He then reached his other hand between her legs from behind, according to police.

The 15-year-old, who wasn’t identified because of his age, was arrested on charges of fourth-degree sexual assault and second-degree unlawful restraint. He was remanded to the custody of the Bridgeport Juvenile Detention and is due in Waterbury Juvenile Court on Friday, Nov. 4, according to police.

Based on information obtained from the suspect, Cheshire Police Detectives are continuing their investigation to establish the suspect’s possible connection to the other reported groping incidents in town.
