4 Injured In Truck Crash Near Railroad Tracks In Danbury: Fire Dept.

First responders found that two of the truck's occupants had escaped the pickup truck, and two more were trapped inside.

DANBURY, CT — Four people were hospitalized after a pickup truck crashed into a utility pole in Danbury.

The collision occurred just before 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday in Firefighters in the area of White Street and Balmforth Avenue alongside the railroad tracks.

First responders found the truck had also smashed into a small structure owned by Housatonic Railroad. Two of the truck's occupants had escaped the vehicle, and two more were trapped inside.

Firefighters were able to quickly extricate and treat everyone involved, according to a Facebook post from the Danbury Fire Department. Three ambulances were called to the scene of the crash, and all four people were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Firefighters remained on the scene to manage leaking batteries within the wrecked structure, but officials reported there is n o hazard to the public and no impact on railway traffic.
