Alcohol Vending Machines Approved by House Legislature

A similar bill passed the House last year, but was killed in the Senate.

DANBURY, CT --- A bill, championed by David Arconti, D-Danbury, allowing people 21 and older to buy beer, wine and cider at self-dispensing machines has passed the Connecticut State House legislature by a vote of 110-34.

Consumers would need to purchase with a payment card obtained from the bartender, which would be good for up for up to 32 ounces of beer or cider or 10 ounces of wine as dispensed by the machine.

A similar bill passed the House last year, but was killed in the Senate. The bill is being promoting by Arconti and the Danbury delegation because of interest from local bar owners.
