Boughton Feeling 'Much Better' After Collapse At Event
The long-time Danbury mayor collapsed at an event Thursday night and required hospitalization.

DANBURY, CT — Mayor Mark Boughton's collapse subsequent hospitalization during a Republican governor meet-and-greet event in Avon was caused by dehydration, according to city officials.
City Council President Joseph Caro told the News-Times that Boughton's neurological tests came back fine and his collapse doesn't appear to be related to his brain surgery last year.
Boughton's campaign manager said he is doing much better Friday. Both his opponents and allies from across the state wished him will with his recovery.

Boughton was released from the hospital Friday.
"Last evening Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton was brought to UConn Health where, according to his doctors he was treated for dehydration," UConn Health said in a statement.

He extended his thanks to the people of UConn Health before leaving.
The long-time Danbury mayor collapsed at the event Thursday night and was reportedly given CPR. Fellow governor candidate Prasad Srinivasan, a physician, helped attend to him right after the collapse.
Boughton underwent brain surgery last year to remove a large cyst. He recovered from the operation and went back to work not long after. Boughton appeared in a Super Bowl commercial for University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, which is where he had his specialized operation.
