BREAKING: Mayor Fires Danbury Cop for Using Excessive Force [VIDEO]
Mayor Mark Boughton has fired Danbury police officer Daniel Sellner citing excessive force as a reason for dismissal.

Mayor Mark Boughton has fired Danbury police officer Daniel Sellner citing numerous reasons for dismissal, including using excessive force, according to the News Times.
The investigation was prompted by numerous complaints of excessive force complaints against Sellner, who was fired on Jan, 14, 2015.
In a termination letter from Boughton to Sellner published in the News Times Tuesday, Mayor Boughton said that police officers should “act professionally, treat all persons with dignity and respect.”

Boughton continued, “Your actions and these violations indicate you are either unwilling or unable to carry out the duties of a police officer in accordance with the high standards expected of the Danbury Police Department.”
