BRINGO: NF Relay for Life Celebrates Survivors and Caregivers

Relay for life of New Fairfield would like to thank all who came out
to BRINGO, Sunday, March 4th. Led by the Survivor and Caregiver
Committee, primarily made up of local teens, Survivors and caregivers
were welcomed to a morning of brunch and bingo! For those who do not
know, Bringo is a free event with food, bingo, prizes and smiles. This
was the second year the event took place to honor and celebrate those
who have fought cancer and those who have fought alongside them.

If you have ever heard the words “You have cancer” YOU are a survivor.
If
you have driven someone to treatments, brought them meals, sat with
them during long treatment days, given them emotional support during
their journey; YOU are a caregiver. Relay for Life of New Fairfield
thinks it is important for you to know that you will always be a
caregiver. If your survivor has lost their battle YOU are still a
caregiver and are encouraged to join us at any and all events!

This year well over 53 people turned out for this amazing Relay For Life
event. That is a huge portion of the community that has been affected by
this horrible disease. Unfortunately, we know there are so many more!
You are not alone! Please, reach out and join us so we can celebrate YOU
and give you a chance to relax, unwind and just enjoy one another!
Everyone, including the 20 some odd student committee members, had a
blast! The committee's next free event for survivors and caregivers is
in May for a BBQ at Squantz Pond.

is here for you. YOU are our reasons to raise funds, raise awareness
and work tirelessly so one day there will be a world without cancer.
