Danbury Business Employee Threatened To Bomb Workplace: Police

A threat made by one employee to another at a local business led law enforcement agents to discover a large cache of weapons, police report.

DANBURY, CT — A threat made by one employee to another at a local business led law enforcement agents to a large cache of weapons, according to Danbury police officials.

On Monday, police were contacted by high-tech equipment design firm Arcmed on Shelter Rock Road about an incident that took place between two employees. Police report that the manager told them one employee threatened to kill another. A witness told police that the same employee made a threat to "shoot up and bomb the building," according to police.

"A check of the suspect revealed that he has a valid CT Pistol Permit and multiple firearms registered to him. Due to the severity of the claims, a Risk Protection Order was completed," police spokesperson Erin Henry said in a statement Tuesday afternoon.

After executing a search warrant, police discovered and seized "hundreds of rounds of ammunition in various calibers and all known weapons," Henry said.

Police have charged Jun Yao Chen with first-degree threatening, third-degree criminal mischief, and disorderly conduct. He is currently being held on a $1 million bond.
