Three Juveniles Stole Car at Knifepoint: Danbury Police
Two schools were locked down due to a carjacking on Austin Street Friday morning.UPDATE

DANBURY, CT — Three juvenile suspects were arrested Friday after a carjacking that led to a police chase and resulted in the temporary lockdown of two schools in the Great Plains area of the city, according to Danbury Police. Two girls and one boy were charged in the incident.
Police reported to Austin Street for a report of a stolen car in progress at 9:53 a.m. Friday morning, and learned that the three suspects stole a Nissan Sentra. Police tried to stop the car on Tamarack Avenue, but the driver continued, police say. To sign up for Danbury breaking news alerts and more, click here.
Officers lost sight of the Sentra, but found it later abandoned on Hawley Road. The three suspects were spotted running in the area, and the victim confirmed their identity.

The Hayestown School and St. Gregory School were placed on lockdown for 10 minutes, Lt. Christian Carroccio told Patch.
Both the boy and one of the girls were charged with larceny in the third degree, conspiracy to commit larceny, robbery in the second degree and conspiracy to commit robbery in the second degree.

The other girl, who was driving the car, was arrested on the same charges as well as reckless driving, disobeying the signal of an officer and driving a vehicle without a license.
