Danbury Company Selected to Provide Green Power to State
The company has been tapped to provide over 22 megawatts of power.

DANBURY, CT — The state has selected a local alternative energy company and a major offshore wind farm developer to supply more than 250 megawatts of electricity to Connecticut consumers, The CTPost is reporting.
FuelCell Energy of Danbury and Deepwater Wind were selected from among 27 bidders jockeying to provide renewable power following a request for clean energy proposals.
FuelCell Energy utilizes a technology that operates like a battery but doesn’t produce any greenhouse gas or noxious emissions. The cells don't run down so long as they are continually fed hydrogen. The company is slated to supply 14.8 megawatts of power from a facility in Derby and 7.4 megawatts in Hartford.
