Danbury Council President Recovering from Heart Surgery
The procedure was rushed up to Thursday after Cavo fell ill earlier in the week.

DANBURY — Danbury City Council President Joe Cavo is recovering from an unplanned heart bypass surgical procedure performed at Bridgeport Hospital on Thursday, Mayor Mark Boughton confirmed Friday morning.
The procedure, although anticipated, was rushed up to Thursday after Cavo fell ill earlier in the week.
The surgery went well and Cavo is now recovering at the hospital, Boughton said. The mayor expects Cavo will take some time off, but would return as soon as the council’s May meeting.
