Danbury Crews Tackle Main Street Blaze Under 'Challenging' Conditions
Danbury firefighters extinguished a fire in a Main Street residence on Monday night.
DANBURY, CT — Firefighters extinguished a fire in a Main Street residence on Monday night.
Just after 10:30 p.m., the Danbury Emergency Communications Center began receiving multiple 911 calls reporting the blaze.
First responders from the Danbury Fire Department found heavy fire conditions in the rear of a two-and-a-half story residential building, according to city spokesperson Erin Henry. The response was upgraded to two alarms, bringing in additional firefighters from several more companies.

After searching the home and the attached commercial spaces, crews determined accounted for all occupants.
"Despite challenging conditions and access issues in the rear of the building, the fire was brought under control in under 45 minutes," Henry said.

There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters, and around 13 residents have been displaced, according to Henry.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Danbury Fire Marshal’s office.
