Danbury Drug Trafficking Bust Leads to Three Arrests: Police

Resident complaints led to the investigation and arrest of suspects accused of trafficking cocaine, Xanax and Oxycodone.

DANBURY, CT — Three city residents were arrested Wednesday an investigation into a drug trafficking operation on Triangle Street which led to the seizure of cocaine, Xanax and Oxycodone.

Investigators and and a federal law enforcement official arrested William "June" Carrasquillo, Ashley Studwell and Chanmor Khuth on the corner of White and Byron streets in the process of a drug deal, according to Detective Mark Williams. All three were found with a 'considerable quantity' of drugs, police allege.

Police began investigating citizen complaints of drug selling activity at an apartment belonging to Carasquillo, 39, weeks before the arrests. Investigators found that Carrasquillo and his girlfriend Studwell, 29, were trafficking drugs which led to the issuance of search and seizure warrants, according to police. Carasquillo and Studwell were arrested along with Khuth, 26, after police saw the couple engage in a drug deal.

All three were charged with possession of a narcotic substance and possession with intent to sell. Carrasquillo was charged with operating a vehicle with a suspended license and Khuth was charged with possession of a controlled substance. Police also seized cash and a car used in the drug dealing activity.

Carrasquillo and Khuth were released after posting $10,00 bonds. Studwell was released on a promise to appear.
