Danbury Elks Valentine Breakfast postponed until Feb. 19

The Danbury Elks Valentine Breakfast has been postponed to February 19, according to a post on their Facebook page which said, "Due to the winter weather advisory for Sunday February 12 and for the safety of our members and guests the Valentine Breakfast has been postponed to next Sunday, February 19, same time, from 10:00am to 1:00pm."

They are offering a deal of 2 for $14 ($7 each). Breakfast will include scrambled or fried eggs, bacon, sausage, home fries, waffles, toast and coffee. The bar will be open with specialty drinks of the day: Mimosas and Bloody Mary. RSVPs are appreciated, please visit the Danbury Elks Facebook event to RSVP or email DanburyElks@gmail.com.

Painting party seeks volunteers

Starting at 8:30am on Sunday February 19 there will be a painting party, according to Eric Svege, Exalted Ruler of the Danbury Elks Lodge. "The Danbury Elks are looking for volunteers to help paint the lower level, which will be used for meetings and other functions once completed. It will also be available for rent by members and non-members. Currently the main floor is available for rent. We have had many great events here including benefits, birthday parties, even a wedding! We are always looking for extra help from the community and new members to volunteer their time," Svege said. If you are interested in volunteering to paint please email DanburyElks@gmail.com.

A benevolent organization and "community hub"

"The Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks will be turning 149 on February 16. We are an organization rich in history and tradition," Svege said. "Our local lodge is a great place to be, it's really a community hub." For more details about renting the Lodge visit DanburyElks.org.
