Danbury Farmers Market Moving Locations
For several years, the Farmers' Market has been held in Kennedy Park.

CityCenter Danbury is excited to announce that the Farmers’ Market, which has grown over several successful years in Kennedy Park, will move to the CityCenter Green for the season that starts in June.
As the Farmers’ Market continues to attract more produce vendors, along with specialty vendors, the need for additional space and ease of access is critical. Pat Hembrook, managing director at CityCenter Danbury, says the switch to the Green is just what the market needs.

“With more farmers and vendors wanting to participate, we just ran out of space,” Hembrook says. “We feel that the Green will give us the extra space the vendors need. And the parking at Patriot Garage, steps away from the Green, is perfect.”
Many of the favorite vendors are returning, offering up fresh and local produce, honey, clams, syrups, eggs, baked goods and an array of new and exciting foods. Hembrook added that while many vendors have already signed on, including some of the most popular vendors from last year, the market still has room for people interested in selling farm-fresh eggs, cheese, meat products and prepared foods. There is also some availability for food trucks who would park next to the market. Weekly music will continue.

A new addition to the Farmers’ Market this year will be food demos and sampling. A registered dietitian/nutritionist will prepare recipes using the produce and food from the market and offer samples.
Moving into its eighth year, the Danbury Farmers' Market Community Collaborative with CityCenter Danbury continues its nutrition-in-action program called “Better Food for Better Health.” Its goal is to provide equitable access to local fresh food. Peggy Zamore, director and nutritionist for the collaborative, says “this move enables more people to participate and enjoy the fabulous food our vendors bring each week.”
Courtesy parking will be available from the Danbury Parking Authority at the Patriot Garage with proof of purchase. The Farmers’ Market opening day is June 24 and will run every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. until Oct. 21. For more information go to the website, www.DanburyFarmersMarket.org.
