Danbury Fire Now Hiring For Entry-Level Position

The City of Danbury Fire Department has announced that it is currently seeking individuals for the position of Entry Level Firefighter.

From the City of Danbury: The City of Danbury Fire Department has announced that it is currently seeking individuals for the position of Entry Level Firefighter.

“We are excited to announce the opportunity for dedicated and service-driven applicants to join the Danbury Fire Department. All of our firefighters contribute significantly to the quality of life here in the City. I encourage all those with a commitment to community and an interest in being part of that mission to apply, and I look forward to working with these individuals as they begin their rewarding careers with our department,” Chief TJ Wiedl.

The mission of the Danbury Fire Department is to “Protect the life, property, and environment of all citizens in the most efficient and safe manner possible.” This mission is accomplished through emergency management, training, and education. Upon being hired, these individuals will participate in all aspects of the fire service including public education, emergency medical response, fire suppression, rescue, and many other emergencies.

The position of Firefighter for the City of Danbury is one of extraordinary difficulty and responsibility. Danbury Firefighters are responsible for fire suppression functions in protecting life, property and the environment. In order to be considered for the position, applicants will be asked to take written, oral, psychological, and physical examinations.
