Danbury Ice Cream Vendor Shuts Down
The innovative confectioner did not quite last a year.

DANBURY, CT — Rolling Cow ice cream has rolled out of the Danbury Fair Mall.
The innovative confectioner, which debuted its only Connecticut location here last spring, has shuttered its franchise at the mall.
Rolling Cow turned heads among the local ice cream cognoscenti with its process of mixing and freezing the ice cream right in front of customers using a cold plate. The ice cream was then rolled and wrapped, similarly to a crêpe.

In additional to traditional favorites like peanut butter and cookies 'n'cream, the establishment rolled up new favorites such as matcha red bean and the dragonfruit-laced Asian black sesame.
The loss of Rolling Cow is the first setback in what has been an area artisanal ice cream revival. Rich Farm Ice Cream opened its second Connecticut location last May in Brookfield, around the same time Food/Drink/Travel website Thrillist name Ferris Acres Creamery in Newtown to the list of the 31 best ice cream shops in the country.
