We All Scream: Rolling Cow Ice Cream Comes to Danbury
Up until now, the closest location was in Paramus, NJ.

DANBURY, CT -- Ice cream vendor Rolling Cow has rolled into the Danbury Fair Mall, making that its first location in Connecticut.
The name is not just whimsical marketing. The "cow" is obvious, but the "rolling" part requires some explanation. According to their website, Rolling Cow "artisans" mix and freeze the ice cream in front of customers using a cold plate. The ice cream is then rolled and wrapped, similarly to a crêpe.

Whimsy returns, on the menu, in the form of ice cream made with red beans and dragonfruit. More traditional selections, such as cookies 'n' cream, are available for the less adventurous.
Is there a healthy/gluten-free/vegan/lo-cal/no-fat/hi-fiber/green vegetables option on the menu? None that we could find, you may be gratified to learn. The closest is arguably the "Berry Good," consisting of vanilla ice cream mixed with blueberries, topped with strawberries, blackberries, granola, and a drizzle of honey.

But you can give it your own healthy college try. Customers are invited to create their own flavor by mixing a base of Rolling Cow ice cream with a myriad of fresh fruit choices. It may help to know that none of their ice cream contains any artificial flavors or preservatives.
Danbury is the franchise's fifth location. A sixth is scheduled for the Palisades Center.
Southwestern Connecticut is becoming something of an Ice Cream Destination for frosty foodies tired of the typical cone-and-cup fare. Rich Farm Ice Cream opened in Oxford in 1994, a side gig for the Rich family farm business that grew to become legendary to the locals. A second franchise opened in California, and a third just last month back home in Connecticut, where it became an anchor tenant in the revitalized Brookfield Village. Last month also saw the Food/Drink/Travel website Thrillist name Ferris Acres Creamery in Newtown to the list of the 31 best ice cream shops in the country.
