Danbury Issues Level 2 Snow Warning

Cars must be moved off of city streets, and all travel should be avoided unless absolutely necessary.

DANBURY, CT — The city has issued a Level 2 Snow Warning for the duration of Wednesday's storm. Cars must be moved off of city streets, and all travel should be avoided unless absolutely necessary.

More than a foot of snow is expected to pile up across Connecticut beginning Wednesday night and tapering off Thursday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. By late Wednesday snowfall rates could approach 2-3 inches per hour.

Cars can be parked for free at the Patriot Garage, according to a news release from the Mayor's Office. The garage will close Wednesday at 11 p.m. and reopen Thursday at 6 a.m. Cars found on Danbury streets will be ticketed and towed.
