Danbury Man Killed After Being Struck By Cars: Police

The pedestrian was thrown into another lane of traffic after being struck by a Volkswagen Jetta early Sunday morning, according to police.

DANBURY, CT — A Danbury man was killed after being struck by multiple cars on Sunday.

At about 1:21 a.m., a Danbury resident was struck by a 2010 Volkswagen Jetta while crossing Lake Avenue.

The driver was moving eastbound near #26 Lake Avenue when the collision occurred.

The "pedestrian was vaulted into the westbound lane of traffic, where he was struck by a 2011 Toyota Corolla, which was traveling westbound," Officer Jayson Lyder wrote in his report.

A preliminary investigation indicates that the pedestrian was crossing the street and was in the lane of traffic when he was struck, according to police. The pedestrian was taken Danbury Hospital, where he died from his injuries.
