Danbury Man's Cat Toy Informercial Sparks Lawsuit: Report
The man is accused of ripping off and selling another product under a different name

DANBURY, CT — A city man was accused of ripping off and selling a cat toy through infomercials under a different name in a lawsuit filed on March 30, reports the Connecticut Law Tribune.
The owners of SnugglyCat, who make the Ripple Rug, allege that Ronald Steblea performed a "bait and switch scheme" to sell their product under the name Purr N Play. Fred and Natasha Ruckel, the owners of SnugglyCat, allege Steblea violated the Lanham Act and the Connecticut Unfair Trade Practices Act by creating a national advertising campaign to sell the Purr N Play, which the Ruckels say was actually the Ripple Rug.
The lawsuit seeks at least $75,000 in damages. The infomercial that Steblea allegedly created has been viewed more than 5,000 times.
