Mayor Mark Boughton and Police Chief Patrick Ridenhour told those who attended the meeting that police do not take part in Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids and do not ask for proof of citizenship during routine traffic stops. Boughton added that the city will work with ICE to implement policy changes, but added that ICE looks to detain criminals, not ordinary undocumented residents.
