Danbury In Pictures: The Quietest Place In The City
Patch reader Michael Thompson captured both the beauty and the tranquility of Danbury's Wooster Cemetery.

DANBURY, CT — As the seventh-largest city in Connecticut (and growing), it makes sense that Danbury gets more attention for its roadways than its rhododendrons. Surrounded by bustle and brouhaha, Hat City's natural beauty is frequently overlooked.
Wooster Cemetery, a 100-plus acre sanctuary off Ellsworth Avenue in the heart of Danbury, is a great example of just how beautiful the city can be if you know where to look. It's also brimming with history.
David Wooster was a major general in the militia of Connecticut in the American Revolutionary War. He took a musket ball for his country in a skirmish with Gen. Tryon's British troops as he tried in vain to prevent the redcoats from swiping supplies cached in Danbury. Wooster died in the run-up to what would later be known as The Battle of Ridgefield, and is buried in the cemetery that bears his name.
