Danbury Police Explorers Compete in Cadet SWAT Challenge

From Danbury Police: On Saturday, October 14th, the nine member Explorer SWAT team of the Danbury Police Explorer competed in the annual Cadet SWAT Challenge held in Fairfield , CT. Explorer Cadets compete individually and in teams through SWAT challenge stations. It is all very physical and mental and is meant to challenge the youth in teamwork and leadership. The participants are awarded 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place medals for the top three finishes and points are scored for all finishes. At the end of the long day, the points are tabulated and the three teams with the highest scores are ranked 1st, 2nd, and 3rd overall. For the second year in a row the Danbury Police Explorer team won 1st Place overall. The team was trained by Sergeant John Krupinsky of the DPD and Special Agent Brianna McNally of the US State Department’s Diplomatic Security Service.

Individual & Team awards for the Danbury team were-

• 1st Place Finishes in Rapid Deployment; High Risk Stop; Drug Warrant Execution
• 2nd place in the Officer Down event; and 3rd Place in the Sniper Challenge
