Police Nab 2 Following Danbury Diner Fight, Gunshots

Police said they have identified and charged two men involved in a weekend disturbance at a Danbury diner where gun shots were fired.

DANBURY, CT — Police said they have identified and charged two men involved in a weekend disturbance at a Danbury diner where gun shots were fired.

The Danbury Police Department responded to the area of Elmers Diner at 22 Padanaram Road at 4:05 a.m. Sunday, following a report of a disturbance and gun shots.

Officers say they learned that a fight broke out inside the diner before they arrived, and one of those involved fired several rounds from a handgun before fleeing. No injuries were reported beyond minor ones sustained in the fight, police said.

Police said they apprehended Alphonso Eric Vanterpool Gordon, of Florida, and Patrick Charles Fahey, of Hillside Avenue in Danbury. Gordon has been charged with breach of peace, and Fahey with breach of peace and criminal mischief.

Police expect to make more arrests in the case, according to Det. Capt. Mark Williams, who described the disturbance as "an isolated incident between two particular groups unknown to each other, which began after a heated exchange of words."
