Danbury Residents Lose Home In New Year's Fire

Nine occupants of the home were displaced due to the damage caused by the two-alarm fire.

DANBURY, CT — A fire displaced a family from their home early on New Year's Day.

The Danbury Fire Department responded to a call on Smoke Hill Drive on the border of New Fairfield shortly after 1:30 Friday morning. First responders found house fire, and called in a second alarm.

The fire was quickly extinguished, according to the firefighters' report, but the nine occupants of the home were displaced due to the damage.

The occupants were evaluated and cleared by Danbury Hospital Nuvance Health Emergency Medical Services.

The Danbury FD needed to call in Miry Brook Volunteer Fire Company and King Street Volunteer Fire Company tankers for aid, as there was no hydrant near the scene of the fire.
