Ann Taylor Reminds the Danbury Rotary Club of the Wonderful Resources we have in Redding’s New Pond Farm

At a recent meeting of the Danbury Rotary Club, Ann Taylor the Executive Director of New Pond Farm reminded is that this is a treasure we all need to enjoy. It has grown from a few outbuildings to a facility that has activities that can serve nearly everyone.

The mission of New Pond Farm is to connect people to the land that sustains us all. It was founded in 1985 by actress Carmen Matthews, and now has a litany of programs for adults, families, and children.

The facility is connected to all of the schools in the area, and even has a summer program for inner-city youths. It has caroling in the barn with animals, maple syruping, adopt a hive, birthday parties, a road race, an art show, garden tours, a golf outing, a harvest dinner, and 2 seasonal Shakespeare festivals. One of the most popular programs is the astronomy program. The facilities are available to local clubs and organizations, and can be rented out at a reasonable cost.
