Danbury Schools Seeks Budget Increase

A surge in enrollment is one reason behind the request for an increase.

DANBURY, CT — Danbury Public Schools is seeking a 5.5 percent increase for next year's budget to cover increased teacher salaries and hiring of nearly two dozen new staff members due to an increase in enrollment.

School officials asking for $7 million more, which is more than $135 million, according to the News-Times.

About $3.2 million of the requested increase is to cover planned salary increases for teachers and staff.
