Danbury Sets Schedule For Autumn Leaf Pickup
When is the city coming to pick up the leaves in your neighborhood...?
DANBURY, CT — The city will begin its annual fall leaf pick-up program on Monday.
The free leaf disposal will run for six weeks, from Oct. 19 through Nov. 27.
Only leaves bagged in paper leaf bags with no tape should be left at curbside in front of residences for the city's Highway Department to pick-up.

The paper bags must be clear of any tape, large debris, grass, rocks, dirt, garbage, animal waste, brush or tree stumps, according to a notification on the city's website.
Branches will be picked up separately. Limbs must be cut into lengths no longer than 4 feet, no limb may be larger than 4 inches in diameter. Branches must be bundled with twine in bundles no heavier than 35 lbs.

The Leaf Pickup Program is divided by Interstate 84, and alternates weekly:
- Section A is south of I-84 (zip code 06810) and Section B is north of I-84 (zip code 06811).
- Section A will be picked up the week of October 19 through October 23. Residents in this zip code are asked to place their bags curbside Sunday evenings.
- Section B will be collected the next week. Residents in this zip code are asked to place their bags curbside Sunday evenings.
- This cycle will be repeated through Nov. 27, 2020.
Dates for 2020 Fall Leaf Pick-up Program:
Oct. 19–23: Section A (zip code 06810)
Oct. 26–30: Section B (zip code 06811)
Nov. 2–6: Section A
Nov. 9–13: Section B
Nov. 16–20: Section A
Nov. 23–27: Section B
Pick up dates are subject to change throughout the program depending on weather and the Highway Department's work schedule.
