Danbury Sex Offender Sentenced After Illegally Reentering U.S.
The man had been previously convicted of illegal sexual contact with a minor and risk of injury.

DANBURY, CT — A U.S. District Court has sentenced a local sex offender to imprisonment for illegally reentering the U.S.
Enrique Fajardo Marin, 40, a citizen of Ecuador residing in Danbury, was convicted in Danbury Superior Court of illegal sexual contact with a minor and risk of injury, according to court documents.
Marin was sentenced to 18 years in prison, execution suspended after 10 years, with 20 years of probation. Marin also was required to register as a sex offender for a period of 10 years. On Feb. 5, 2016, after he was released from state custody, Marin was deported from the U.S. to Ecuador.

On June 28, 2017, Marin was arrested in Worcester, MA. The investigation revealed that he illegally reentered the U.S. and had been residing in Danbury since approximately December 2016. Marin also had failed to register as a sex offender in Connecticut.
Marin has been detained since his arrest and is currently imprisoned in state custody for violating his parole. On June 18, he pleaded guilty in federal court to illegally reentering the U.S.
