Danbury War Memorial to place dedication plaque next to Purple Heart Parking Spaces

The Danbury War Memorial is in the process of placing a dedication plaque and rock next to the Purple Heart Recipient Parking Spaces. The spaces were dedicated last year with a small ceremony on August 7th on Purple Heart Day.

Mayor Mark Boughton also declared Danbury as a Purple Heart City with a proclamation. The proclamation was given to John Kwiatkowski, the State Commander for The Military Order of the Purple Heart at the event.

The Purple Heart medal is awarded to members of the Armed Forces who have been wounded or paid the ultimate sacrifice in combat with a declared enemy of the United States of America.
