Danbury Weekend Planner: Santa Train Ride, Whalers Game and More
Here are some events taking place in and around town this weekend.

Friday, Dec. 5
- Elf Workshop: Wood Christmas Tree Ornament at Stew Leonards, 99 Federal Rd., Danbury, every half hour beginning at 4:30 p.m. until 6 p.m.
- DJ Skate at Danbury Ice Arena, 8:30-10:30 p.m., One Independence Way, Danbury, Adults: $8, Skate rental: $4
Saturday, Dec. 6
- Breakfast with Santa & Friends @ Stew Leonards, two seatings at 9 a.m. and 10 a.m., 99 Federal Rd., Danbury, Children age 11 and under are $7.95/each and those age 12 and over (including accompanying parents) are $9.95, Sign up and prepay at Customer Service.
- Danbury Museum & Historical Society hosts their popular Annual Holiday Tea in the Historic Rider House on Saturday and Sunday with service at 12 noon each day
Sunday, Dec. 7
- Breakfast, games and crafts with Santa at the Greater Danbury Irish Cultural Center, 6 Lake Ave., Danbury (just off exit 4), 11 a.m., waffles, sausage, juice, crafts, games and more. $25 per family.
- Danbury Museum & Historical Society hosts their popular Annual Holiday Tea in the Historic Rider House on Saturday and Sunday with service at 12 noon each day.
- Santa’s Express train at the Danbury Railway Museum, 120 White Street, 12:30-3:30 p.m. every half hour, $10 age 2 and older (kids under 2 are free) Includes train ride with either Frosty or Mrs. Claus, a visit and gift from Santa, coloring station, temporary tattoos, hot chocolate and more.
