Danbury Woman Led Police On A High-Speed Chase: Report

A Danbury woman, wanted since last August for leading police on a high-speed chase, turned herself in on Friday.

DANBURY, CT — Police say they tried to stop a Danbury woman for speeding last August, but she kept on going. She turned herself in last week.

On Aug. 18, 2020, Wilton police attempted to pull over a 2018 Subaru WRX for a speeding violation on Danbury Road near Cannon Road. The motorist, Jessica Perez-Chimbo, 23, of Meadow Street in Danbury, continued traveling northbound on Danbury Road at a high rate of speed, according to the police report.

Police later obtained a warrant for the arrest of Perez-Chimbo, who turned herself in on Friday.

The Wilton Police Department charged Perez-Chimbo with speeding and engaging police in pursuit. She was released with a promise to appear before Norwalk Superior Court on March 25.
