Danbury Woman’s Club supports Housatonic Habitat for Humanity
Funded through Annual Celebration of Community Giving

Housatonic Habitat for Humanity was among the more than two dozen local charities which received funding by The Woman’s Club of Danbury/New Fairfield during its annual Celebration of Community Giving breakfast April 24 at the Amber Room.
In making the award presentation, Philanthropic Committee Chairman Mary Ellen Ryer thanked the many organizations which span the arts, conservation, education, home life, and public issues. Housatonic Habitat for Humanity is a long-time recipient of the Woman’s Club grant and works with the Club throughout the year on special events, including Housatonic Habitat’s holiday event, Wrapping for Habitat. “We are so fortunate to have a vibrant community organization like the Woman’s Club,” Executive Director Fran Normann said in accepting the donation. “As both a builder and a bank, we are grateful for the gift which allows us to impact our communities through our affordable housing and aging in place programs.”
Housatonic Habitat for Humanity focuses on making a meaningful difference in the lives of qualified working families by promoting financial stability and self-sufficiency through ownership of affordable homes. By providing decent, affordable, safe housing to qualified regional families, Housatonic Habitat contributes to community revitalization in the greater Danbury region by creating homes that can transform a street and neighborhood and add value to the community.
