Eleven Adoptables at DAWS Shelter Treated to Doggy Makeovers
Canine Company Mobile Spa visited DAWS for a "Spa Day" to help prepare the shelter dogs for adoption
Adoptable dogs in need of forever homes at the Danbury Animal Welfare Society (DAWS) were treated to “canine makeovers” today courtesy of Wilton-based Canine Company.
Two of the company’s mobile spas visited the DAWS campus for a “Spa Day” during which 11 dogs received shampoos and moisturizing treatments, nail trims, ear cleaning and more from Canine Company’s team of groomers.
“Our animals that got the “spa” treatment today from the mobile grooming van are looking their best and we at Danbury Animal Welfare Society are grateful to Canine Company for making them look and feel good!” said Denise Musser, DAWS Director of Events & Fundraising.

Among the adoption candidates were treated to makeovers, were: Turner, a 7-month-old Lab mix; Jake, a Maltese mix; Maxie, a Catahoula leopard dog mix; Simon, a Chihuahua; Shay, a cattle dog mix; Maxine, a poodle mix; and Rocky, a hound mix.
In addition, Walker, a cattle dog mix, who has already been adopted, was groomed so he could head to his new home fresh, clean and feeling great.

“As pet lovers ourselves, we are a passionate about supporting the bond between dogs and people,” said Jennifer Hill, President and CEO of Canine Company. “This is our second Spa Day at DAWS. We know that when these dogs look and feel their best, there will be more ‘love at first sight’ moments when prospective adopters meet them. ”
