Fire Breaks Out In Kitchen Of Popular Danbury Sports Bar
Danbury firefighters tackled a kitchen blaze at a popular sports bar, with a little help from some high-technology.
DANBURY, CT — City firefighters tackled a kitchen blaze at a popular sports bar, with a little help from some high-technology.
The fire broke out in the kitchen of TK's American Cafe at 255 White Street early Tuesday afternoon.
"…but thanks to the vigilant staff on scene and the immediate call to 911, the situation was quickly brought under control without any injuries to civilians or firefighters," fire officials said.

As first responders arrived, they reported the kitchen's Ansul fire suppression system kicked in, successfully extinguishing the blaze. Specifically designed for commercial kitchens, the state-of-the-art technology played a "critical role" in containing the fire, according to Danbury fire officials.
"The system effectively discharged and prevented the fire from escalating, ensuring the safety of customers, staff, and the establishment," the DFD posted on social media.

The DFD remained on scene to check for any potential extension and ensure the safety of the restaurant. White Street was briefly closed in both directions during the incident, but has since been reopened.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Danbury Fire Marshal's office.
The Danbury Fire Department took the opportunity on social media to remind commercial kitchens to have their fire suppression systems inspected as required by the manufacturer.
"Regular inspections and maintenance are crucial to ensuring the systems' proper functioning in case of a fire emergency," officials said
