Former Danbury Mayor Candidate Fined For Ethics Violation

A former candidate was fined for conducting business at a private job on state time.

DANBURY, CT — Former Danbury mayoral candidate Arlindo Almeida was fined $750 for a state ethics violation.

Almeida worked as an investigator in the Chief Public Defender's Office and was employed by a private company at the same time. He used his state computer and other state equipment to conduct business at his private job while also on state time, according to the News-Times.

He also used his state computer and the state email system to conduct business for his mayoral campaign.
