Four Immaculate High School Student-Athletes Sign to Colleges

Immaculate High School's Hatcher, Fahey, Marcone and Lanza Sign Letters of Intent

At a special signing ceremony recently four Mustang student-athletes from Immaculate High School (IHS) made their commitments to colleges for Fall 2017.

Sean Fahey and Will Hatcher of Danbury, Kayla Lanza of New Milford and Danielle Marcone of Bethel signed National Letters of Intent to attend the colleges where they feel they would be happiest and continue to excel academically and athletically.

“These outstanding student-athletes have much in common, as they are all Honor Roll students, superb competitors who are able to rise to the occasion when needed and excellent role models among their peers,” said Jeff Castaldi, IHS Athletic Director. “Additionally, they are all members of All Conference teams in their respective sports, captains of multiple teams, members of State Championship teams and have managed to do hundreds of hours of community service as well,” he added.

Sean Fahey will attend Mount Saint Mary’s University in Maryland, where he will be a member of the college’s Track & Field team. While an IHS Mustang, Mr. Fahey has been a member of Conference and State Championship teams in Indoor Track, a State Champion in the triple jump and an IHS school record holder in the triple jump, as well as a captain of the team.

Will Hatcher will attend Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York, where he plans to compete in the college’s football and lacrosse programs. While at Immaculate, Mr. Hatcher was captain of three sports teams as well named All Conference in football, basketball and boys lacrosse, and is a member of the Boys Basketball Class S State Championship team.

Kayla Lanza will attend Concordia College in New York and play girls soccer and golf for the college. During her years at Immaculate High School, Ms. Lanza has been a member of two State Championship teams and named All Conference and All State in girls soccer and All Conference in girls golf, and was a captain of the IHS teams.

Danielle Marcone chose Quinnipiac University in Connecticut, where she will participate in Cross Country and Track & Field. As a student-athlete at Immaculate, Ms. Marcone has been a member of three State Championship teams in Cross Country, and was named to All State in Cross Country, Indoor and Outdoor Track. She was a captain of the IHS teams.

Immaculate High School is a private, non-profit Catholic college-preparatory institution serving students from 28 communities in Connecticut and New York. Founded in 1962, Immaculate High School also allows students to focus on their spiritual development, personal moral commitments and service to others. Located in Danbury, CT, Immaculate High School is part of the Diocese of Bridgeport’s parochial school system.
