Guns Seized During I-84 Danbury Stop: PD
Three guns were seized along with drugs, police said.
DANBURY, CT — Two men were arrested and three firearms were seized after a traffic stop on I-84 in Danbury March 18, according to police.
A State Police trooper pulled over a vehicle that was going 81 mph in a 55 mph zone. The trooper smelled marijuana and the vehicle was searched with the help of a K-9.
Several marijuana blunts, a small bag of marijuana and the three firearms were seized. One firearm had its serial number scratched off, police said.

Robert Ruiz, 37, of Springfield, Mass. was charged with carrying a dangerous weapon, illegal possession of weapons in a motor vehicle and alteration of a firearm identification. He was released after posting a $5,000 bond.
Hector Martinez, 24, of Springfield was charged with illegal possession of weapons in a motor vehicle and carrying a dangerous weapon. He was released after posting a $2,500 bond.

The driver was issued an infraction for speeding.
