Hardware Store Closing After 29 Years in Danbury: Report

The business supplied materials for the Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company and occupied its North Street location for 29 years.

DANBURY, CT — After 29 years in business, Deep's Hardware Store will be closing its doors for good Friday, reports the News Times.

The North Street mainstay is owned by the Deep family, who owned a grocery store, hardware store and restaurant on adjacent properties on the street. The Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company used the store as its supplier for many years.

The store will be holding a 40 percent off sale through Friday to liquidate its inventory. Owner Jack Deep said he tried to sell the store to three different retailers, but couldn't come to an agreement.
