Heartfelt Thanks Are Due This Loving Month

WCDNF thanks all those who helped make their Poinsettia Day a success>

The Danbury and New Fairfield Woman's Club wishes to express our loving thanks to many special people. Once a year the Woman's Club hosts their fundraiser of selling poinsettia plants for the holiday season. This past year's drive was very successful which only enables our club to spread more love back to the Greater Danbury area. We do this by offering dozens of monetary gifts to our local non-profit charities & agencies in April and later five high school scholarships.

First, we send our love and thank-you to the thousands of orders for poinsettias from our citizens in the Greater Danbury area. It was a record of sales. Thank-you one and all.

Secondly, our love and thank-yous are extended to the Danbury Men's Club, who assisted us on delivery day with their muscles, vehicles, and humor in the rain.

Thirdly, we send our love and thank-you to the many volunteers from Western Connecticut State University : Roberto Careers, Brennen Diaz, Nata Asani, Nurisha Kaba, Sara Tenke, Amanda Gonzales, and Natakia Hart to name a few. Their smiles also in the rain, their helpfulness in lifting and following requests certainly helped our day run smoothly.

Many thanks to the Police Athletic League for the use of the building (PAL) on our busiest day of the year. All of our poinsettias, when unloaded from the nursery's trucks just about covered the basketball court's floor.

And there isn't success without getting the word out into the community. This is where we wish to thank the Danbury News-Times and The Danbury Patch, The New Milford Spectrum and the New Fairfield Town Tribune for all the generous coverage of the Woman's Club events.

To all of you our heartfelt THANKS from The Woman's Club of Danbury and New Fairfield.
